About

Yes 4 Thompson Students is a grassroots campaign dedicated to supporting the passage of a Bond and Special Mill Levy for Thompson School District this November.

Voting YES means more funding for:

  • Career and Technical Education

  • Safety and Security Upgrades

  • New HVAC, Maintenance Projects, and Renovations to make sure that students across the District have the best learning environment possible.

It also means higher teacher salaries and benefits so that we can continue to attract and retain high-quality staff.

Impact
Why a YES Vote Matters for Thompson Students

More Opportunity

A YES vote funds Career and Technical Education through expanding the Thompson Career Campus. This means students are able to develop real-world skills for any path after high school.

It also means upgrades throughout the District, for example replacing old technology and computer labs, so that all students have the tools they need to succeed.

Safety & Security

A YES vote would allow the District to address safety and security needs at schools throughout the District by adding secure vestibules, radio amplification systems and other physical updagres to help ensure that each student has a safe learning environment.

Air Conditioning & Maintenance

Currently, 50% of the school buildings in the District do not have air conditioning. A YES vote means not only adding AC in some buildings, but also addressing high and medium priority maintenance needs throughout the District.

Growth Needs

A YES vote allows the District to accommodate high growth in the Berthoud area, by adding approximately 250 seats in the next 6 years.

Teacher Salaries

A YES vote allows the District to pay teachers more, helping to make sure that teachers can afford to live where they work, and that the best teachers choose Thompson over other neighboring school districts.

Continued Success

Thompson students continue to show growth and academic success, with a 91.1% graduation rate in 2023 (up 3.5% from 2022). The class of 2023 received over $19 million in scholarships, and the Thompson Career Campus continues to be a model for Career and Technical Education.

The District is committed to maximizing the impact of bond revenue, as the $149 million bond approved by voters resulted in $208 million invested in our schools through the awarding of grants, earned premium and interest, and selling assets to reinvest.
